  • Getting to know the students. Allow the students to identify themselves
  • Identifying the added value for the course (Subject matter). Let the students feel and see how the course will enrich their lives and how relevant it is to their advancement.
  • Setting and alignment of expectations. What is to be expected of the students, how to study, type of assessments to be expected, how and in what manner to behave.
  • Establishing the instructor’s credibility. The instructors are to give a little background information about themselves and how their expertise and knowledge soul contribute to the students’ development.
  • Facilitate administrative procedures as appropriate. The students should know about the operational aspects of the course, the utilization of the portal, the attendance, and grading needs to be discussed with details so that the students would know everything pertaining to the course in the beginning of the semester.
  • Establishing patterns and starting momentums. Should the instructor wish to establish a behavior pattern, the matter should be commenced at once and the students should be instructed to follow through on it from the beginning.
